Neuroaesthetic Art as an Anchor in a Restless World

Sarah in front of her artwork The Tender Pulse

We are always reachable for the world, yet we often drift away from our own essence. It is time to nurture the most important connection of all: the relationship with yourself.

I am Sarah Hüttscher, a Hamburg-based artist. Influenced by my background in digital media, my work combines philosophical depth with neuroaesthetic principles to create an atmosphere where you can truly find rest.

I focus on spaces where presence matters:
places of reflection, healing, and conscious living.

3 Questions Answered by the Artist

Find out more about the "Vertical Atmosphere" and why engaging with neuroaesthetic art can be beneficial for your nervous system.

Who is your artwork created for?

My work is created for people who seek more than visual aesthetics — for those who want to feel something shift. It resonates especially in spaces where presence matters: therapy rooms, coaching practices, and environments dedicated to healing and reflection.

At the same time, it speaks to collectors who value quiet, atmospheric works that unfold over time — artworks that do not dominate a space, but breathe within it.

Ultimately, it is for people who want to bring more awareness, depth, and sensitivity into their everyday surroundings.

How does your background in digital media influence your work?

It all began with my studies in Digital Media at Leuphana University Lüneburg. Over the years, I have explored deeply how technology and digital media reshape our perception.

Information overload, endless connectivity, and the fragmentation of our attention have become the new normal. But what happens to our nervous system in this constant rush? We exist in a state of perpetual high alert.

As an artist, I now create a conscious counterpoint to this pace. My artworks are visual responses to digital fatigue and are designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system. I invite you to explore this space of tranquillity, deep connection and relaxation.

What is the connection between your work and neuroaesthetics?

Neuroaesthetics examines how our brain responds to visual stimuli.

My works make deliberate use of this knowledge: by combining vertical lines with harmonious colour gradients, the nervous system is gently stimulated to ‘lift itself up’ (mental elevation) whilst simultaneously finding calm. It is art that can actively support your well-being.
